In the work of David Allan Peters, the visible material speaks of the painting’s making. Smooth monochromatic white surfaces are offset by areas of bright, striated colors on the edges of raised mounds and depressed pools. His paintings resemble three-dimensional topographical maps of a sparse land that is both minimal and luscious.
